Year 4 Spring Concert

Posted: 20th March 2023

What a triumph! Year 4 delivered another high-quality concert; this year based on their theme of ‘Rainforests.’ The confident choir performed five pieces with energy and gusto: Raindrops Keep Falling on my Head, with accompanying actions to make everyone smile,  Earth Song- a classic piece with a clear message, Somewhere Over the Rainbow – their lovely rendition of this was heart-lifting, I Can See Clearly Now- with their own fun twist And for the big finale, they sang their favourite Singing in the Rain, followed by the modern version as a dance that could rival the Britain’s Got Talent winning performance a few years ago! The choir songs were utterly fabulous, and the audience were toe-tapping along throughout.

Alongside the ensemble performances, we had a wealth of soloists with more variety than ever before! It was nice to see instruments like the harp, cello, electric and acoustic guitar, trumpet, flute, violin, and lots of pianos. Well done to all of you as this was a real achievement in itself to see a concert with this much instrumental diversity.

Year 4 have worked incredibly hard to put this concert together, and the standard of their performances continues to reach new heights as they prepare to join the upper school next year. Our Year 4 concert would not have been possible without a little help behind the scenes. I would like to thank the Year 4 team: Miss Lavos, Mr Gillespie and Miss Childs for their contributions throughout. A big thank you to Mr Roy for the finale dance choreography, and to our wonderful instrumental teaching staff for their endless support of our soloists.

Well done again to Year 4 for such an excellent quality music concert; I hope this has inspired you to start thinking about KGT next year!
