Practical Information
Should I bring my child?
You’re welcome to bring your child along, however, the morning is primarily designed for parents and carers, so please don’t feel you need to. If you would like to bring your child into school after the open morning, we hold regular Stay & Play sessions for 0-3s or, for those considering a place for an older child, they will be invited into school for a taster session as part of the application process.

Frequently Asked Questions
What year groups do you accept?
We welcome children from Nursery (as soon as a child turns 3) through to Year 6 (age 11), and our most common entry points are in Nursery and Reception. Please contact Admissions to discuss your child’s specific circumstances.
Is there an assessment process?
For entry at Nursery, there is no assessment and children benefit from a guaranteed place in Reception. For entry at Reception (age 4), children will have a short and informal meeting with our Head of Early Years to allow us to get to know them better. From Year 1 upwards, children will meet with our Head of Infants or Deputy Head and enjoy a taster session in class so that we can be sure that Kew College Prep is the right fit for them..
Where do pupils go after Kew College Prep?
Our pupils go on to a wide range of excellent senior schools, including many of London’s leading independent and grammar schools. We work closely with families throughout the 11+ process to help each child find the senior school that’s right for them.
Can I find out about fees before the open morning?
Information about our fees is available on the Fees page of our website. As an independent, charitable trust, and non-profit making, we are committed to keeping our school fees competitive within the local prep school market and offering excellent value for an outstanding education.
What if I can’t make this date?
Our admissions team runs tours throughout the year. If October doesn’t work for you, please do book onto one of our small tours or contact registrar@kewcollegeprep.com and our team will be  happy to arrange a personal tour at a time that suits your family.
Small Group Tours
Our Registrar, Michelle Warburton, hosts daily small‑group tours that offer an authentic glimpse into life at our school. During your visit, you’ll meet our Head, Mrs Jane Bond, and gain a real sense of life at Kew College Prep. Families joining one of our Early Years tours will also meet our Head of Early Years.
Which tour to attend
Early Years & Infant House Tours
For families considering entry from Nursery to Year 2 (ages 3–6).
These tours include an opportunity to see the whole school, giving you a complete picture of our learning journey from Early Years upwards.
Junior House Tours
For families considering entry from Year 3 upwards (age 7+).
Please note that these tours focus on the Junior House and do not include visits to the younger classrooms. If you are considering a Junior House place but have a younger sibling, we recommend joining an Early Years tour so you can view the entire school.
If the available times don’t suit your schedule, Michelle will be happy to arrange an alternative visit. Simply contact Michelle at registrar@kewcollegeprep.com.
We look forward to welcoming you to Kew College Prep!
