Year 4 visit to The Design Museum

Posted: 2nd March 2023

On Wednesday 1st March Y4 set off on the Tube for a fun filled day at the Design Museum in Kensington.  There was chance to explore an exhibition of work by contemporary designer, Yinka Ilora which was bright and eye-catching.  Then we walked through the permanent Designer-Maker-User display and marveled at a range of objects from the past through to more cutting-edge designs.  Both classes were treated to a workshop on the topic of chairs, looking at examples with different functions and then designing a concept for their own unique chair.  The skills we learnt will be used in our next Art project- Cosy Corner designs.

We are sorry to hear about the closure of local Prep School and Nursery, Ashton House. We are conscious that this is a very unsettling time for Ashton House parents and children and, as we have had several enquiries, we are opening up additional tours on Wednesday 4th June and Friday 6th June for anyone looking for a Prep School or Nursery place. Click here to book a place on a tour.
