Infant House Assembly

Posted: 2nd March 2023

The Infant House had a super assembly led by Dr Coppel. The children learned all about the role of an anaesthetist and saw a photograph of Dr Coppel’s operating theatre. Dr Coppel talked about the different places where anaesthetists work, such as the labour ward, A&E, intensive care and in ambulances and helicopters. The children had hands-on experience holding stethoscopes, masks and syringes. There were some very insightful questions at the end, such as ‘what would happen if the breathing tube damaged your vocal cords?’ There was lots of excitement as the children left and discussions about becoming doctors!
