Kew College Friends
Having fun whilst raising funds to enhance school life at Kew College Prep
Kew College Friends (KCF) is run by a group of parents at the school. The group organises key events including the Summer Fair, Childrens’ Discos, Quiz Nights and more. The aims of KCF are to organise fun events during the academic year, to provide a forum for social activities for children and parents and also to raise funds for the school and its nominated charity.
In the past, Kew College Friends has supported; Sport for All, The Sick Children’s Trust, ‘Médicins sans Frontières’, Just a Drop, Small Steps, RNIB, Riding for the Disabled, Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and REACT. In the current year, the focus is on The Rainbow Trust.
In addition to events, other fund-raising activities include cake sales, second-hand uniform sales, purchase of personalised Christmas cards, childrens’ discos, film evenings and Secret Santa. Items purchased by KCF and gifted to the school include; the school mini-bus, a new piano for the Hall, mini iPads for the Infant House, iPads for the Junior House, iPad charging trolleys, playground equipment, gym equipment, books for class libraries, a portable PA system and speakers, planter troughs for gardening, Numicon resources, Lego, microscopes, visualisers, wooden benches on the forecourt, contribution to the development of the beautiful new school library, contributions to the Stride and First Aid workshops for Year 6, contributions towards the Leavers’ Presents and much more. Additionally, they will be setting funds aside to support an upgraded school website and a replacement school mini-bus.
